A selection of materials to support you with your revision. 

This is the first course that you will study at GCSE. We look at temperate forests, rainforests and deserts. We will also see Epping Forest first hand on our first fieldwork expedition. The trip will enable students to develop their knowledge and skills in in undertaking fieldwork. Our case studies are: Epping Forest, Malaysia and the Thar Desert, and sustainability in Australia.

In Urban Issues and Challenges students will first study The Urban World and look at cities from a global perspective. Students will study the emergence of megacities, and consider the social, economic and environmental issues in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Students will them study Urban change in the UK, where the case study will be Cardiff, which is also the site for fieldwork. Finally, we look at urban sustainability including traffic management solutions in London and Curitiba.


This course is all about river landscapes of the UK- how they form unique landscapes, and about the erosion, transport and deposition of material within this environment, including the landforms that this creates. Students will use the River Tees and the Afon Glaslyn as their examples. Students will study the Afon Glaslyn as part of fieldwork. Students will also study the Rivers Parrett and Tone to assess the flooding on the Somerset Levels in 2014.

This is a self taught course which forms part of the new AQA specification. Although it is compulsory and will be examined, it is designed for students to manage in their own time which should allow them to gain greater confidence in study skills in preparation for further study at A Level. 

This course introduces the ideas of how countries develop, how some countries re more developed than others and how different countries can improve the economic situation of their country.

This course investigates the natural hazards that occur globally and considers the impact that this on people where people live.

This area is designed to support students through Paper 3, which includes fieldwork and the subsequent write up and the application section. Our fieldwork will be undertaken in Epping Forest, Snowdonia and Cardiff. Students have to undertake both Human and Physical Fieldwork.
