KS3

Students will study an Introduction to science skills course in the first 3 weeks over all 3 science subjects. After this, the students will study one module of Biology, one module of Chemistry and one module of Physics per term. 

In the Autumn term, students will be learning about  cells, tissues, organs.

In the Spring term, students will be learning about Reproduction

In the Summer term, students will be learning about  food chains and plant reproduction.


The focus this year is on  Healthy lifestyle, linking to muscles, bones and respiration. This is introduced in the Autumn term. Students will have separate Biology lessons this year.

In the spring term, students will be learning about Variation - inheritance and environmental factors.

Finally in the summer term, the students continue with their ecological knowledge and learn about plant biology and photosynthesis. The term includes a field visit to Chatham Green Field centre.


Introduction module - foundations / building blocks for biology at GCSE level. Cells, transport across membranes, respiration and basic inheritance. (Autumn Term)

Start GCSE work, food and diet, adaptation / competition - leading to a field trip in Year 10. (Spring / Summer Term)
