At both AS and A level, you will study two topics; the Philosophy of Religion and Ethics.

Philosophy themes will include arguments for and against the existence of God, the problem of evil, miracles, life after death and concepts of proof.

Ethical concepts are studied and applied to a variety of contemporary issues such as war, peace, sexual and medical ethics.

In Year 12 there will be two externally assessed examinations.

In Year 13 there are also two externally assessed papers; the first comprises questions from both the independent units studied throughout the year, the other is a controlled synoptic task containing questions based upon a published anthology that is studied in class.
